Exploring Europe by train together or alone, I find myself stairing out into the ocean of endless fields looking for those “perfect” songs that encapsulate how great I feel. Don’t fear the moment, these songs bring me closer.
Like the never ending fields, life has so much to offer. I’m high on life, it’s cliche, but it’s true.
Whatever your situation, turn on these songs and let go in the moment.
Here are some very special songs, that have brought me to the world’s end and back.
The city is a CLASSIC example of europe, its far too picturesque for its own good. We saw many sight, heard many sounds, and smelled alotta strange scents.
Nightlife in Prague is great, we spent our time wisely having a few drinks and playing the role of irresponsible drunk tourist, fighting a cab driver in the streets, and running up escalators from the dreaded Czech police. All in all it was a great trip, I had a lot of fun with great people.
It was not long in Prague, before I found out that the BIGGEST club in central europe was right around the corner from our Hostel; a FIVE-Story Club. Yes, thats right, 5 floors of dancing madness. If you get bored in one, go the next floor! Haha, the concept is ridiculous. BUT, it works! Each floor is uniquely decorated, a different setup, with different music.
The first floor was like a dark basement rave, 2nd Floor: was a lazer, light dance fest, 3rd Floor: was a lit up disco floor with 80s music, 4 Floor: was in da club Hiphop and 5th Floor: was laid back chill roof lounge.
Here is a pic of the club outside.
Scroll down for pics of the inside.
Below are some SONGS for download.
TURN UP THE BASSSSS Zombie Nation, make great dance tracks and this one has deep bass, aLMOST minimal house. This song is for fun, and less insane dancing. Wait for the singing to come in.
The Shoes make some fun remixes that have a wide range of feels. This one has “Rolex” in the hook, you can expect a more in da club vibe. It’s also very bouncy.
Lets face it, the Europeans know a little more about making taste rockin Beer than the Americans. The other day I went to a Brewery to see what all the fuss was about, I came back enlightened.
Recently I’ve been listening the new Blood Beetroots tracks that have been giving me the biggest craving for a good ol American dance party.
Fill up with beer and fill ears with the Bloody Beetroots. There’s nothing better to dance and rock with.
TURN UP THE BASS.
All of them are excellent dance tracks.
(People OD if you play them back to back)
Last night was my friend Giulia’s birthday (on the left) so it was a dress red for Russia dance party, obviously i’m not wearing red but hey i tried. :P I always knew but I never REALIZED how popular dance music is out here. It IS pop music, like Timbaland is pop in America. At Giulia’s dance party I was introduced to some of the more popular Euro dance tracks. Here they are for your listening errr dancing pleasure…
Destination Unknown is THE quintessential dance song out here in Europe, the horns come in and everyone’s screaming.
Let Me Think About it Giulia’s favorite, I couldn’t help but post it trusting her taste in music, and the amount of dancing fun I had last night. Sounds a lil like Justin Timberlake meets Euro-Dance.
So now I’m in Germany, for a few months, I’m hitting the music scene hard and checking out what Germans like to dance to.
Digitalism has definitely been the artist of choice for me this trip. I’ve pulled their album back out and I’ve been listening to it all over. It has more re-play value then other big indie-electro albums like Justice’s †
Its fitting that i’m listening to Digitalism because they’re from Germany!
My German sounds great, but I only know 5 words so i’m still working on it. Eines means number one. :P
Echoes is a fantastic track and I listen to it on all the train rides and airplane take offs, its got a great “sending off” vibe.
And here’s my favorite song that has been long over-played by many radio stations, and djs alike. But still its classic and if you havent heard it get it here. Download: Digitalism - Pogo (Save Target As)
it’s summer! time for some brain-mashing. we need a bass drum…bass-bassbass drum.
check out this modeselektor track. out on bpitch control, a sweet little label out of berlin. with any luck, ben should be able to up our dosage of insane german electronica in coming months as he travels around. im excited, are you?
